«LEGO Constructor for Adults»: The Story of a New StarBuilding Employee

How do you adapt to a new company if, right after being hired, you are handed a huge package of documents, and your first deal is yet to be closed? In our interview today, a StarBuilding specialist, working here for his second month, frankly talks about getting acquainted with LGSF technology, hidden talents outside the office, and why the main superpower in business is always telling the truth.

Interviewer: How did your journey in the company begin? Do you remember your very first working day?

Employee: Yes, of course, I remember my very first working day. I arrived, Rudolf Valentinovich introduced me to all the company's employees, I was assigned a workplace, and then I was given a huge package of documents that I had to sort out, read, and study.

Interviewer: What main advice would you give yourself on your very first working day?

Employee: Probably, perseverance, having an immense desire to learn something new, and approaching it with pleasure.

Interviewer: And what new things did you have to learn in the company that you hadn't even thought about before?

Employee: Basically, I previously worked in a similar construction field, but I hadn't encountered the LGSF (Light Gauge Steel Framing) direction before, as it is an innovative field.

Interviewer: If you had to explain to a five-year-old child what you do, how would it sound?

Employee: I think it would sound the same as when it was first explained to me when I arrived at the factory: it's just a LEGO constructor for adults. As an example: a child builds something from LEGO or some other constructor; we build the exact same thing, just like adult uncles.

Interviewer: Which project, decision, or task during your time here are you most proud of?

Employee: Unfortunately, due to the fact that I'm working here for the second month, I haven't sold or closed a single deal yet, so there isn't much to be proud of yet, but there is optimism.

Interviewer: What gives you the main boost of energy and drive in your work process?

Employee: I don't know, as smart people say: "Fall in love with what you do, and then you won't work, but will be engaged in your favorite hobby." Since the work is very diverse, I like everything very much; I constantly immerse myself in the process and learn something new, so there is never time for despondency.

Interviewer: What is the most difficult thing in your work and how do you cope with it?

Employee: I think nothing is difficult for a person — a person is driven by desire. If there is a desire, everything can be overcome, so I don't see any problems.

Interviewer: What are you passionate about outside of work that most colleagues don't even know about?

Employee: Actually, a lot of things. Because my parents were maximalists and enrolled me in all kinds of clubs, I think my colleagues don't know that I have a musical education, a chess rating, I am a Candidate for Master of Sports (CMS) in freestyle wrestling, and I play hockey.

Interviewer: Without what ritual or habit does your working day not begin?

Employee: It used to be an alarm clock, probably, but since I've grown up, I've been waking up without an alarm for a long time. Brush my teeth, smile, and go to work. There are no special rituals, I don't drink coffee.

Interviewer: What is your most favorite motivating track or movie?

Employee: There are no specific ones, but I really like Soviet movies. Such as "Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears", "Beware of the Car" — you can list a bunch of them.

Interviewer: If our company were a squad of superheroes, what superpower would you have?

Employee: Since childhood, I have always thought that the best superpower a person can be endowed with is to always tell the truth. And then people will never have doubts. You state: "This product costs this much; if you work with us, you will get certain positive qualities."

Interviewer: Recall the most curious or funny incident from your work practice.

Employee: Out of two months of work, I was without a computer for almost a month (laughs). We'll skip the rest.

Interviewer: Describe the working atmosphere in our company in just three words.

Employee: Efficiency, positivity, and purposefulness.

Interviewer: If you could swap roles with one of your colleagues for one working day, what position would you choose and why?

Employee: Since we are more involved in administrative tasks here, I would probably like to try myself somewhere at the factory, if it's for one working day — for example, as the factory director.

Interviewer: Why do you think clients choose our company specifically?

Employee: Because we are honest, we provide a guarantee, we always work transparently, we are in touch 24/7, we provide feedback, and we show our maximum loyalty.
